The LIFE4OakForests project has been started!
We launched the project on the 26th of July 2017 in the Sas-hill visitor Centre (Budapest, Hungary). The project will last until 2026. During the project we will increase the structural and compositional biodiversity of Natura2000 oak forests, while providing tools for forest conservation management actions.

All partners participated on the first discussion. There are three national parks involved in the project from Hungary (Duna-Ipoly, Bükk and Balaton-felvidéki National Park Directorate) and one from Italy (Ente di gestione per i Parchi e la Biodiversità-Romagna). Furthermore, WWF Hungary and the Ermellek Nature Conservation and Multipupose Association is responsible for networking and dissemination. The Centre for Ecological Research, Hungarian Academy of Sciences is responsible to monitor the effect of the conservation management actions. During the meeting we outlined the plans, discussed the next steps and we were excited to start to work.
