e held two presentations in connection to the LIFE4OakForests project on 10 February 2022 in Sopron, at the Forestry Scientific Conference organized by the University of Sopron. In the Ecology and nature protection section Tamás Frank and János Bölöni on behalf of Institute of Biology and Botany, Centre for Ecological Research (ÖK ÖBI) spoke about conservation forest management in Natura 2000 oak forests. The fifteen-minute-long presentation covered the short introduction of the project; the assessment of the condition of oak forests in the project sites; the introduction of the structure, tree species composition of the reference oak forests and the close-to-nature forestry measures.
In the Forest inventory, forest description section Gábor Tímár, forestry field officer presented about the identification of forests of high natural value in Hungary. In his lecture, Mr Tímár introduced the data sources used, their potentials and obstacles, and showcased possible scenarios to continue this work.
