The Authority, represented by the Technical Manager of the Service Lorenzo Cangini, the Naturalist Technician Matteo Ruocco, and the Project Coordinator for Life4OakForests Serena Petroncini, participated in the Evaluation Meeting 2025 and the Steering Committee Meeting 2025 (SCM) of the Life4OakForests LIFE16NAT/IT/000245 project on 11th and 12th March. The meeting took place at the Lynx House Visitor Centre in the Duna-Ipoly National Park (DINPD), located in Kyrályrét, Hungary. In addition to the Authority, the lead beneficiary of the project, all partner beneficiaries attended the meeting, including the Bükki National Park (DBNPD), Duna-Ipoly National Park (DINPD), Balaton-felvidéki National Park (BFNPD), WWF Hungary, the Hungarian research centre HUN-REN-CER, ETTE, and FENCON Consulting Ltd.
On this occasion, a lengthy meeting was held to review the progress of the project across all the involved Parks. The objectives achieved at various sites through forest conservation interventions were presented, along with the results of the first post-intervention monitoring, both in terms of forestry and zoology. Any issues that had arisen were discussed, as well as the objectives met regarding communication activities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, an excursion took place in the oak forests of sessile oak and turkey oak in the Duna-Ipoly Park, where the forest conservation interventions outlined in the project had been implemented.
