On 14 October 2023, the Life4Oak Forests Forum “E Per Tetto un Cielo di Foglie” was held at the Ca’ Carné visitor centre in the Parco regionale della Vena del Gesso Romagnola. The day’s programme was packed with events.
In the morning there were numerous presentations involving various speakers: Serena Petroncini presented the activities and results achieved by the project in 2023, Lorenzo Cangini and Matteo Ruocco talked about the importance of dead wood and microhabitats in forests, bat expert Massimo Bertozzi presented the topic of forest bat monitoring for Life4Oak Forests, entomologist Roberto Fabbri on insect monitoring, ornithologist Fabrizio Borghesi illustrated the constant-effort ringing activities carried out within the Life Carnè-Rontana project area and ornithologist Mattia Bacci on raptor monitoring in the Parco regionale della Vena del Gesso Romagnola, also carried out within the Life project areas.
In the afternoon, after the Forum, the day continued with the Photographic Exhibition on diurnal birds of prey by photographers Roberto Zaffi and Luciano Piazza, promoted by the Life4Oak Forests project.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until 7 January 2024.
Finally, the project’s own photo birdwatching hide located in the Life Carnè-Rontana project area was inaugurated.
The public showed great involvement, enthusiasm and interest in the activities.
